Bolder and boxier, ready to tackle the trail, the 2026 Honda Passport takes Honda’s mid-size SUV in a whole new direction. A complete makeover, from the chassis to the interior, is wrapped in brand-new sheet metal that sets up the Passport for commuting to work or hitting the rough country on the weekends.

Under the hood of the 2026 Honda Passport, the 3.5-liter V-6 engine remains but gets tuned up. It steps up to produce 285 horsepower, five more horses than the previous generation, and 262 lb-ft of torque. The new 10-speed automatic runs to standard all-wheel drive across the model line-up. It includes Intelligent Traction Management with Snow, Sand, and Mud modes, along with Trail Torque Logic. This allows it to tow up to 5,000 pounds. In terms of fuel economy, RT-L models get 19 MPG city and 25 MPG highway, while TrailSport and TrailSport Elite trims drop to 18 MPG city and 23 MPG highway. These models get an off-road tuned suspension for improved backcountry performance and an underbody skid plate for protection. All versions can tow up to 5,000 pounds, plenty for bringing along a pop-up camper, small watercraft and more.

Standing tall, with a boxy profile and a squared-off back end, the 2026 Honda Passport sticks out from the rest of the Honda SUV line-up. Short front and rear overhangs help tackle steeper trails, and big rear windows allow plenty of light in.

Plenty of space is provided in the durable interior for five passengers and cargo. The first row gets 40.5 inches of headroom and 41.1 inches of legroom, while the second row gets 40.7 inches of headroom and 40.9 inches of legroom, plenty of space for full-sized adults throughout. The moonroof in the TrailSport trims reduces headroom to 39.1 inches in the front row and 39.6 inches in the second row, still plenty of clearance. There’s plenty of space for cargo, with 44 cubic feet of space behind the second row, expandable to 83.8 cubic feet with the second row stowed.

Standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration brings smartphone apps to the 12.3-inch color touchscreen that is standard across the line-up. Bluetooth and HD radio are both included, while a wireless smartphone charging pad and four USB-C ports – one for data, three for charging – keep handhelds charged. The standard stereo system has been upgraded to a nine-speaker system, while a 12-speaker audio system is optional.

The Honda Sensing Driver Assistance Suite is standard in every 2026 Honda Passport, bringing together features including forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and a rearview camera. The Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Monitor is also standard, along with auto high-beam headlights. A multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines helps backing in and out of spaces, while an available multi-view camera system provides a thorough exterior view.

Three trim levels are offered in the 2026 Honda Passport line-up, with additional versions within each trim level.

The RTL trim sits on 18-inch shark gray alloy wheels. Leather and cloth seating features inside, with heated front seats. The driver’s seat is 10-way power adjustable, with memory, while the front passenger’s seat has 4-way power adjustment. Tri-zone automatic climate control provides adjustable comfort levels throughout the cabin. The power tailgate provides for easy loading and unloading, while heated side mirrors provide for visibility even in ice and snow. The RTL Towing version comes with a standard Class III trailer hitch with harness and hitch panel; the RTL Blackout gets black exterior badging and 18-inch black alloy wheels with black lug nuts.

All-terrain tires wrap the 18-inch matte gray alloy wheels on the TrailSport trim. Inside, the seating is wrapped in leatherette and cloth, with orange stitching and accents. Amber ambient LED lighting and all-season floor mats add atmosphere and durability, while overhead, the standard moonroof helps open up the cabin. A Blackout trim is available, featuring the same black trim accents as the RTL Blackout.

The TrailSport Elite trim gets 18-inch Berlina Black wheels outside, while inside the seating features perforated leather with contrast stitching and accents. The front seats get ventilation, while rear outboard seats are heated. The leather-wrapped steering wheel gets heating as well. A Bose 12-speaker sound system is standard, featuring a subwoofer. Hands-free Access and Walk Away Close makes the power lift tailgate easier to operate for loading and unloading. The multi-view camera system is standard on this trim level, as is TrailWatch, providing greater visibility on uneven trails. Like the previous trims, a Blackout version is available.
