Fitting in between the compact CR-V and the spacious three-row Pilot in the Honda line-up, the 2025 Honda Passport is an alternative for the driver looking for a two-row SUV with extra space and rough-road capabilities. It’s built to be more than just an urban hauler, with the ability to tow and haul even in poor weather and off the beaten path.

The 3.5-liter V-6 engine under the hood of the 2025 Honda Passport is nearly identical to the one in the Pilot. It produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 9-speed automatic. This provides for peppy acceleration and steady highway cruising. All trims come with the same set-up, with standard all-wheel drive that includes Intelligent Traction Management with Snow, Sand, and Mud modes. This allows it to tow up to 5,000 pounds, while all models achieve an EPA fuel economy of 19 MPG city and 24 MPG highway. TrailSport models get an off-road tuned suspension for improved backcountry performance.

The exterior of the Passport bears similarities to the larger Pilot, including an upright front fascia that leads back to swelling fenders and molded sides. It’s outdoorsy yet sporty, something helped by the standard 20-inch wheels available in silver or black.

Inside, there is ample room for four passengers, and a fifth can squeeze into the second row for shorter trips. Heated front-row seats with leather trim are standard, with unique stitching available on higher trim levels. There’s 40 inches of legroom and 39.6 inches of headroom in the second row, so taller passengers can stretch out. With the second row in place, 41.2 cubic feet of space is available, and this can be extended up to 77.7 cubic feet with the second row stowed.

With standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, every 2025 Passport comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, along with Bluetooth and a wireless smartphone charging pad. A seven-speaker audio system is standard, with an upgraded 10-speaker audio system in the Black Edition. Multiple USB-C charging ports are provided, while a navigation system with voice recognition and Wi-Fi Hotspot capability are both available.

Every 2025 Honda Passport comes with the Honda Sensing Driver Assistance Suite. The most up-to-date version of the system includes features such as forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and a rearview camera. The Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Monitor is also standard, along with auto high-beam headlights. A multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines provides for easy backing up and is included on every model.

Three models are offered in the 2025 Honda Passport line-up.

The EX-L trim sits on 20-inch Sparkle Silver alloy wheels and has a power liftgate for easy loading. Inside, in addition to the standard equipment mentioned previously, there is a USB-A data port, and HD Radio and SiriusXM are provided. HondaLink is also standard, a subscription service that allows drivers to pair their cell phone for control over a variety of vehicle functions.

In addition to the upgraded suspension, the TrailSport trim gets rugged-look 18-inch pewter gray alloy wheels, wrapped in all-terrain tires. LED fog lights provide improved visibility, while gloss black roof rails provide extra carrying capability. TrailSport logos feature throughout the interior, including on the all-season floor mats, with orange contrast stitching and logoed head restraints on the seats. Ambient orange LED lighting creates ambiance across the interior. The satellite-linked navigation system is standard as well.

The Black Edition builds off the EX-L, swapping in 20-inch Berlina Black wheels and adding hands-free access to the power tailgate, making it even easier when you have your hands full of groceries or other cargo. Black leather-trimmed seating gets red highlight stitching, and front seats get ventilation while rear outboard seats are also heated. The steering wheel has red stitching and is also heated. The Black Edition also comes with an upgraded 10-speaker premium audio system and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
